Vxceed was proud to be one of the sponsors of the GenAI Hackathon: Sustainable Impact, at Unitec, Auckland, an event focused on harnessing the power of Generative AI technologies to create innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The hackathon, organized by AWS and Promptech, brought together industry experts, students, and professionals to collaborate on impactful AI-driven projects.

The highlight of the event was the compelling keynote speech delivered by Vxceed’s Co-Founder & CTO, Cyril Ovely, who emphasized the importance of harnessing AI for social good. Ovely also served as one of the esteemed judges, reviewing the projects based on creativity, feasibility, and impact.

As one of the event’s sponsors, Vxceed also awarded the first-place prize to the team Sustainable Data Miners, who created the solution EcoLens—an AI-powered tool designed to help businesses track and reduce their carbon footprint using Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Bedrock.

The hackathon also recognized two other winning teams. Hive Five, which focused on improving health literacy, took second place, while AWSome Generators secured third place with their solution addressing water eutrophication. Each team showcased the immense potential of AI technologies to tackle real-world problems.

With over 125 attendees and 18 competing teams, the GenAI Hackathon demonstrated how AI innovation can drive positive, sustainable change.
